Seventeen-year-old Molly Peskin-Suso knows all about unrequited love—she’s lived through it twenty-six times. She crushes hard and crushes often, but always in secret. *ARC provided via netgalley in exchange of an honest review. The thoughts are entirely my own and not biased in anyway.*

This is my first reading in poetry. I mean, sure, we had poetry for lit class in school, but post that I never really read any poetry. Until, one of my friends recommended Lang Leav to me. He was full of praises and begged me to read any of her works because she’s just so good. And, because I trust his judgement a whole lot, I decided to give it a go.

Boy, am I glad that I did! I absolutely loved it! The absolute gorgeousness with which Lang captures emotions and plays with words is amazing. Every poem is a story of its own and it baffles me that she can convey in a few lines what many can’t convey through entire books. She’s really gifted.

I absolutely adored all the poems. They were so beautiful. Happy, sad, heartwarming and heartbreaking all packaged in this one beautiful book for the world to read and experience love. *sighs*

It’s really, really beautiful. I mean, I’m running out of words now. Beautiful, gorgeous, ethereal, transcending and whatever other adjective you want to use. This was beautiful. I’m glad I decided to pick this up. I know I’m going to read all of her work ASAP and I know that I’m going to be just as blown away by them as I am with this!

If you haven’t read her poetry. You’re missing out. Lots. Please pick up one of her collections ASAP! You’ll be thanking me.

Wild Swans, Jessica Spotswood – Book Review

1459165497497

27015393The summer before Ivy’s senior year is going to be golden; all bonfires, barbeques, and spending time with her best friends. For once, she will just get to be. No summer classes, none of Granddad’s intense expectations to live up to the family name. For generations, the Milbourn women have lead extraordinary lives—and died young and tragically. Granddad calls it a legacy, but Ivy considers it a curse. Why else would her mother have run off and abandoned her as a child?

But when her mother unexpectedly returns home with two young daughters in tow, all of the stories Ivy wove to protect her heart start to unravel. The very people she once trusted now speak in lies. And all of Ivy’s ambition and determination cannot defend her against the secrets of the Milbourn past….

1459165556078

Okay, first of all, can I just say that this is such COVER LOVE! ❤

I really, really love the cover of this book! It is so amazing! It’s just really, really beautiful!

PG9bkr5

And, the story is even more beautiful! ❤

This story follows the journey of Ivy as she tries to understand her family better and tries to find herself and just move on in life. The depth of her emotions and the situations she’s thrown in are just so, so real. They’re heartbreaking and sad and happy and good and bad and frustrating and what not. It’s everything that one goes through in life when they’re seventeen and confused and don’t know what to do or who to choose or what to say.

Ivy, by her very nature, is a people pleaser which puts her in a lot of tough spots throughout the story, but that’s life! It’s shitty at times and you don’t get what you want and you have to put on a brave face and take what’s handed to you and that is explained brilliantly in this story!

I love Ivy’s character. She’s not perfect, she’s so flawed. She gets jealous and feels petty and annoyed and frustrated. She’s not the goody – two shoes who has the perfect life and everything handed to her on a platter. She earned what she has and she’s put a lot of effort and heart and soul into being what she is today, but it’s never enough for her perfectionist grandfather. He keeps pushing and pushing and she succumbs, not just because she’s a people pleaser, but also because she believes that he wants the best for her and he does know best. But, during the course of the story, as circumstances unfold, she starts to understand that he isn’t as perfect as she feels him to be and he is flawed and he makes mistakes as well. She stands up to him when she feels he’s wrong and that is a huge deal because she hasn’t done that, ever.

And, then, of course, there’s her mother. The bitch. (Please, excuse my language, but that’s what she is.) She walked out on Ivy when she was only two and has come home fifteen years later, only because she doesn’t have a place to stay. What’s worse is that she has two more daughters and she’s told them that Ivy is their aunt and not elder sister. Even though she’s down to the ground, Erica (that’s her name) is still so self centered and obnoxious and just such an asshole to Ivy. She refuses to acknowledge her existence and doesn’t care about her feelings at all. But, the way Ivy handles it beautiful.

And there’s Alex, who is her best friend/could – be – love – interest – but – not – so – much because Ivy doesn’t want to jeopardize their friendship. Alex and her mother, Luisa have been like family to Ivy and her Granddad after Erica walked out and she loves them. Ivy is afraid that if they start dating but it doesn’t work out, she won’t only lose her boyfriend, but also her best friend and her family. So, understandably she doesn’t want to tread those waters but Alex does and that creates problems between them and then when Ivy starts dating Connor, oh my! That is something that is done beautifully. I love how her struggle is depicted in the story and how she tries to overcome those feelings is amazing! I love all her interactions with Alex and how she puts forth her point and how she stands her ground in what she believes.

And, of course, there’s Connor! Dreamy, swoony, amazing Connor who I need in my life! ❤

tumblr_inline_mgu0u41nf31qj6ih4

He’s such an understanding, smart and amazing guy. He’s always there for Ivy when he needs her and her biggest pillar of support apart from her friends Claire and Abby (who just love her so very much! I adore them! Claire and Abby! ❤ You go girls! You’re amazing and beautiful and I LOVE YOU GUYS!) But, we’re deviating from the topic. Connor. *sighs* I love him. He’s just so passionate about what he wants and he goes after it and he loves poetry! Are you girls swooning yet? I know I am! I just adore him! He’s the best. The best. Seriously. So amazing.

I love how issues are subtly tackled in here. There’s abandonment and LGBTQ+ themes thrown in in a good measure in a subtle yet empowering manner and I love that! I am so happy that all these issues are addressed and the way Jessica does it is amazing. I love it!

As you can see, there’s little I hate about this book. One of them being that Ivy comes off as a little whiny in parts, but those are easily overlooked because her character is strong and real and gritty and all of us whine at times and we don’t even realise it.

All in all, Wild Swans is an amazing, amazing story about self discovery and standing up for yourself and just doing what you believe in. You should read this!

Grin and Beard It, Penny Reid – Book Review

1459165497497

233378631Sienna Diaz is everyone’s favorite “fat” funny lady. The movie studio executives can’t explain it, but her films are out-grossing all the fit and trim headliners and Hollywood’s most beautiful elite. The simple truth is, everyone loves plus-sized Sienna.

But she has a problem, she can’t read maps and her sense of direction is almost as bad as her comedic timing is stellar. Therefore, when Sienna’s latest starring role takes her to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park she finds herself continually lost while trying to navigate the backroads of Green Valley, Tennessee. Much to her consternation, Sienna’s most frequent savior is a ridiculously handsome, charming, and cheeky Park Ranger by the name of Jethro Winston.

Sienna is accustomed to high levels of man-handsome, so it’s not Jethro’s chiseled features or his perfect physique that make Sienna stutter. It’s his southern charm. And gentlemanly manners. And habit of looking at her too long and too often.

Sienna has successfully navigated the labyrinth of Hollywood heart-throbs. But can she traverse the tenuous trails of Tennessee without losing her head? Or worse, her heart?

1459165556078

Okay, so, anyone who knows me, knows that I absolutely adore Penny Reid. I mean, I just completely, absolutely, totally, irrevocably love her and her work. She is JUST THE BEST!

tumblr_lp4dsspa1g1qbz5qno1_500

There is a absolutely no two ways about the fact that she’s a brilliant author and all her books are just so very amazing. They’re just so, so, so freaking good. Like, I literally have a case of heart eyes when I read her books. I just want more and more and more and more!

tumblr_inline_n9ihruUdwr1qmjizo

It’s just because her books are so very amazing. She has such a way with words that you cannot help but love her. Her books are smart, funny, quirky, lovely, full of amazing slow burn romance and so much fun and laughter! I LOVE THEM! (Like I already mentioned 10000 other times!)

tumblr_o6bj9h3hZP1re3x32o1_500

Okay, now, I guess we’ve spent a lot of time fangirling over Penny, so we should dive into the review!

18576607

So, let me start by saying SIENNA DIAZ IS THE WOMAN! GOSH, I LOVE HER!!!! I LOVE HER SO MUCH. She is absolutely freaking shit brilliant.

giphy

She’s smart. She’s beautiful. She’s humble. She is absolutely freakin’ hilarious! (Well, she has to be. She is after all an A – list comedian.) She kind of reminded me of Rebel Wilson. Which is all sorts of awesome because I ADORE REBEL WILSON!

PG9bkr5

But, she is seriously so amazing. She’s like my new role model. She stands up for what she believes in. She doesn’t take shit from anybody. She always speaks her mind. She is determined and hard working and she loves her job. She’s always trying to be better at what she does and she has an amazing passion and drive for the things she loves. Yes, she is like the perfect woman. Now you know why I love her so much!

1464707934275

She is also a closet romantic. On the outward, she says she doesn’t want to settle down, but she does crave a family, a partner and her life to be filled with a lot of love. Which, makes absolute sense because she has so much love to give.

1464708145253

While she maybe a hopeless romantic, she still is a little cynical and a whole lot sarcastic. Seriously, there are so many facets to this woman’s characters that I could talk the whole day and still not scratch the surface. She is just this multi dimensional, loving, kind, complex, giggly girly woman who is just about everything awesome in the world.

1464707376802

Now, talking about Jethro. He is such an amazing BOOK BOYFRIEND! Like, make room ladies, your latest, probably the most amazing one as of late, Book Boyfriend has arrived. And, he is all sorts of amazing.

1464707564386

I can hear you sighing all the way from here, woman. Keep it down! I know he’s absolutely amazing, but, yeah. Put a stop to it!

So, Jethro. He’s done a lot of questionable things in his past, but one incident changed his life forever and since then, he’s been the best version of himself. He gave up all his vices, turned his life around and became this absolutely wonderful, wonderful man.

1464708563959

He is also a hopeless flirt. He’s charming and sexy and gorgeous and his mouth just spits honey. So, yeah, he just flirts without even trying. It makes him all the more desirable, though.

1464707170591

He’s also kind and caring and beautiful. He just gives and gives and gives. He’s such an amazing man. Always ready to help anybody, keeping his best foot forward, just being this amazing, amazing person. He never hesitates to help anybody, is always running around, trying to make others happy. I love that about him.

unnamed

And, he seriously has a way with words. He just knows the right things to say at the right time. I mean, I swooned more than once just listening to him. He is absolutely perfect. Just so, so, so very amazing.

1464708030293

Yeah, swoons, right? I just absolutely adore him. There aren’t words enough to tell you guys how much I adore him. He is absolutely friggin’ perfection. Just absolutely, completely, amazingly, perfect.

1464707745537

Now, coming to the story! It is so, so well written. Penny promised us some slow burn in this one and did she deliver?!?! Oh my! I was just so invested in the characters from the very beginning and they were just getting lost in their heads and trying to maintain a distance and what not, and I was just like, GET TOGETHER ALREADY!

tumblr_nqx31rqTjH1re3x32o1_500

That was my thought process for most of time they were skirting around each other and I just wanted to bash their heads together and make them understand that they’re totally perfect for each other! There was so much anticipation and build up that I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW I FELT WHEN THEY GOT TOGETHER! I just celebrated!

tumblr_o5fen3yiZq1re3x32o1_250

It was just so fulfilling, like I’d achieved my purpose in life! Then, their relationship took off and the book got even better than before, even though I didn’t think that was possible! They were all cuddly and smoochy and cutesy. Like this adorably sexy amazing couple and I just swooned so much. And dreamed about them being together forever.

1464708669811

And then they fell in love and things got even better and so much more interesting and there was so much drama and love and happiness and longing and anxiety in those last 5 chapters where they made their way to their happily ever after that I JUST LOVED IT!

It just put fuel to the fire and made their final meeting so, so much better. Just, more of that intensely amazing slow burn came into play.

1464708399081

So, after all the swooning, I don’t think there is much left to say! Thank you, Penny, for writing this amazing book!

tumblr_mbj2jx1NZ21re3x32o1_250

It is one new amazing feather in your amazingly awesome hat. Just keep being awesome and writing all these beautiful stories! YOU MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE!

Identical twins Beau and Duane Winston might share the same devastatingly handsome face, but where Beau is outgoing and sociable, Duane is broody and reserved. This is why Jessica James, recent college graduate and perpetual level-headed good girl, has been in naïve and unhealthy infatuation with Beau Winston for most of her life.

His friendly smiles make her tongue-tied and weak-kneed, and she’s never been able to move beyond her childhood crush. Whereas Duane and Jessica have always been adversaries. She can’t stand him, and she’s pretty sure he can’t stand the sight of her…

But after a case of mistaken identity, Jessica finds herself in a massive confusion kerfuffle. Jessica James has spent her whole life paralyzed by the fantasy of Beau and her assumptions of Duane’s disdain; therefore she’s unprepared for the reality that is Duane’s insatiable interest, as well as his hot hands and hot mouth and hotter looks. Not helping Jessica’s muddled mind and good girl sensibilities, Duane seems to have gotten himself in trouble with the local biker gang, the Iron Order.

Certainly, Beau’s magic spell is broken. Yet when Jessica finds herself drawn to the man who was always her adversary, now more dangerous than ever, how much of her level-head heart is she willing to risk?

SEX! It all started with sex, between my parents. Personally I don’t like thinking about it, but whatever works for you is a-ok with me. No judgment. The sex happened in California and much of my life also occurred in that state until I moved from the land of nuts (almonds), wine, silicon… boobs, and heavy traffic to the southeast US. Like most writers I like to write, but let’s get back to sex. Eventually I married and gave birth to 2 small people-children (boy-6, girl-4 as of this writing).

By day I’m a biomedical researcher with focus on rare diseases. By night I’m a knitter, sewer, lino block carver, fabric printer, soap maker, and general crafter. By the wee hours of the morning or when I’m intoxicated I love to listen to the voices in my head and let them tell me stories. I hope you enjoy their stories.

Love Charms and Other Catastrophes, Kimberly Karalius – Blog Tour

25819497Aspiring love charm maker Hijiri Kitamura was excited to come back to Grimbaud for her sophomore year-until she learns about the upcoming charm making competition. Grimbaud has just started to recover from the tyranny of Zita’s love fortunes and it would be too easy for the winning charm maker to take Zita’s place. The only solution is for Hijiri, with the support of her friends and fellow rebels, to win the contest herself.

Unfortunately, that’s easier said than done, especially when Love itself has decided to meddle in Hijiri’s life. Concerned that it’s favorite charm maker has given up on finding a boyfriend of her own, Love takes matters into its own hands and delivers the perfect boyfriend to her in a giftwrapped box…literally.

*ARC provided in exchange for an honest review*

Okay, so let’s be honest here. All three covers of Kim’s books are adorable! Like we all know, I only read this book because I loved the cover so much. (If you don’t, you should check my review for Love Charms and Other Disasters – Love Fortunes and Other Disaster, Kimberly Kiralius – Book Review. And now that that shameless part of self promotion is done, we can move on!)

I absolutely loved this book! It is so adorable. And it’s filled with the cutesy, adorable, smitten feeling all through the story. It starts with Hijiri, the heroine, finding a huge gift box on her doorstep. And, her gift is a boy. A live, breathing boy. Tailor made for her by Love himself. One who loves Hijiri so much already!

Hijiri, like any sane person, is befuddled and shocked at this. She can’t stomach the fact that this boy is in fact a charm. And so starts her mission to solve him, like he’s a puzzle and to prove to Love that she can solve him without falling for him.

“I don’t know what to do with you.”

“That’s okay, I’ll be here when you do.”

It doesn’t help that Ken is all sorts of charming and perfectly right for Hijiri. Of course he is. Love made him just for her. He’s smart and cute. He’s so sweet and caring and loving and I just ADORE HIM SO MUCH!!!! ❤

giphy

I just really, really, really adore him! Ken is like the perfect boy. *sighs*

He’s always there for Hijiri whenever she needs a friend, a shoulder to cry on, a helping hand, a believer, anything. He can be anything and everything she needs and that just makes my heart melt. Like, he’s not perfect, of course. But he might as well be. For Hijiri, he is. And that is all that matters.

We must look like two halves of a heart.

The character development for Hijiri is definitely super outstanding. I love how she comes into her own as a person and as a character through the course of the story. She was a timid, shy girl who didn’t really talk much in book one. Then, she made some friends and she spearheaded her friends to victory in the charm making competition and she fell in love. She’s absolutely brilliant. Really. I identify with her a lot in the sense that I am always looking for Happily Ever Afters for others but I don’t really believe that I have one out there. Just like Hijiri. But, her story gets a Happily Ever After and that makes me thinking that maybe, just maybe, I could to. (I’m not really holding my breath for that one. Because I’m not convinced still. Not really.) But, she did find hers and that is what is important.

It makes me believe that our hearts can be tangled and tied to each other no matter how far away we are or how much time passes between.

The setting of the story is absolutely awesome. Grimbaud is facing an identity crisis after Zita’s fall and the town is desperate for another love charm maker to take over. So, of course, there’s a competition to chose who can take over. And, obviously, Hijiri and the charm theory club are participating. There was such a competitive edge in the story. I loved it. All the tests and the quizzes and competitions were amazing. Of course, I absolutely loved Hijiri’s take on all the tasks, how she went about them, what questions she asked, what charms she made, they were truly unique and breathtaking. I loved them all. It shows us just how much Hijiri understands love and what is important when it comes to love.

To keep holding his hand. To feel his arms around her. To laugh at his dorky sweaters and bulky backpack. To know what kissing Ken would feel like. Loving Ken was like dreaming.

The development of the other characters was also done really beautifully in the story. I loved the homey edge that surrounded Fallon and Sebastian. After everything they’d been through, those two deserved it more than anyone else. And, I loved seeing them that way. All loved up and in bliss. ❤

Nico and Martin are taking there relationship forward and those two are just totally remarkably adorable. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows for them, but they’re working through their issues and seeing them so devoted to each other is really heartwarming.

And then, there’s the twins. For the first time, they’re stepping in uncharted territory. They’re having differences of opinion and fighting. That was really refreshing to read. It was also very uncomfortable and daunting. I was just wishing wishing wishing for them to get past their differences and be the sisters I knew them to be. Of course they did that, but it took sometime before their issues were resolved and seeing them that way was sort of eye opening.

“What does our home look like?”

“It’s made of charms. Not very sturdy.”

“Ah! So we are building one together. And here I thought I was the only one working on this relationship.”

All in all, Love Charms is an amazing read and definitely lives up to the expectations I’d set after reading the first one. It’s love and happiness and struggling and finding each other despite all the differences in the world and just being there for your friends and your family and always, always, always opening your heart to love. It’s believing that there is someone in this world, who is made just for you, no matter what else you might think, because it’s true.

“You fell in love with me. Twice. How?”

“I don’t think I can put that answer into words.”

I totally suggest all you guys to go grab this book and read it right now because it is so effing amazing!

“My heart blushes whenever I’m around you.”

In Kimberly Karalius’s First Kisses and Other Misfortunes, two boys discover that true love is harder than it looks, even in the charming town of Grimbaud, in this lovely novella from the author of Love Fortunes and Other Disasters.

Nico is worried. Again. After freeing Martin from the illegal love charms of his evil ex-girlfriend, Nico was sure that their love would be the perfect romance he’d been waiting for. But it’s been months and Nico’s still waiting for his first kiss. Between Martin’s dedication to student government and Nico’s responsibilities at his family’s tourism business, there’s been no time for romance or kisses. Fortunately, the Canal Festival is coming up and like all Grimbaud events, it will be filled with romance…especially the Water Parade, Nico’s favorite part. And this year, Nico will be the captain of his own small boat! It’s the perfect opportunity for a romantic (and hopefully kiss-filled) date with his boyfriend. There’s just one small problem: Martin is afraid of drowning. Will Nico’s dreams of a romantic first kiss be sunk before they are even launched?

The Reflections of Queen Snow White, David Meredith – Book Review

1459165497497

18780192

What happens when “happily ever after” has come and gone?

On the eve of her only daughter, Princess Raven’s wedding, an aging Snow White finds it impossible to share in the joyous spirit of the occasion. The ceremony itself promises to be the most glamorous social event of the decade. Snow White’s castle has been meticulously scrubbed, polished and opulently decorated for the celebration. It is already nearly bursting with jubilant guests and merry well-wishers. Prince Edel, Raven’s fiancé, is a fine man from a neighboring kingdom and Snow White’s own domain is prosperous and at peace. Things could not be better, in fact, except for one thing:

The king is dead.

The queen has been in a moribund state of hopeless depression for over a year with no end in sight. It is only when, in a fit of bitter despair, she seeks solitude in the vastness of her own sprawling castle and climbs a long disused and forgotten tower stair that she comes face to face with herself in the very same magic mirror used by her stepmother of old.

It promises her respite in its shimmering depths, but can Snow White trust a device that was so precious to a woman who sought to cause her such irreparable harm? Can she confront the demons of her own difficult past to discover a better future for herself and her family? And finally, can she release her soul-crushing grief and suffocating loneliness to once again discover what “happily ever after” really means?

Only time will tell as she wrestles with her past and is forced to confront The Reflections of Queen Snow White.

So, this book? Oh, my God! This book is absolutely amazing! I LOVE IT! IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL! I ADORE IT!

The way that this book is written is absolutely phenomenal. The story is enchanting and gripping, and the writing is exemplary. You should totally go and read this. Right now.

This story explores Snow White’s life post the Happily Ever After that she had with her Prince Charming. It showcases her grief and her pain and her hopes. It is such a gripping narrative that you can’t help but just love it.

Snow is such a complex character and the emotions she experiences at any given point of time are showcased so beautifully in the story. This one has the perfect mixture of the ‘show and tell’ aspects of writing.

Any of you who are fans of fairy tales must definitely read this one. It gives so much more insight into Snow White as a character, it’s bloody brilliant. It wasn’t all sunshine and roses that Snow expected her life to be, but it was full of love and laughter. And that is what is important. Snow had a fulfilling life with her Prince Charming, but now she has to live a fulfilling life after he’s left her.

It is brilliantly crafted, amazingly written and beautifully showcased. I recommend this book to each and every one of you out there! Please go and read this amazing, amazing book! You’re seriously missing out if you haven’t read it yet!

The Hooker and The Hermit, L. H. Cosway and Penny Reid – Book Review

New York’s Finest
Blogging as *The Socialmedialite*
April 22
LADIES AND GENTS! I have an announcement!
You know that guy I featured on my blog a few months ago? The really, really hot Irish rugby player who plays the position of ‘hooker’ in the RLI (Rugby League International)? The one with the anger management issues, the body of a gladiator and the face of a movie star? The one with the questionable fashion choices leading me to ask whether he was the lovechild of a leprechaun and a hobbit? Ronan Fitzpatrick? Yeah, that guy.
Well, I have a confession to make…

THE HERMIT
Annie Catrel, social media expert extraordinaire at Davidson & Croft Media and clandestine celebrity blogger, can make anyone shine in the court of public opinion. She is the Socialmedialite, anonymous creator of New York’s Finest and the internet’s darling. Virtual reality is Annie’s forte, but actual reality? Not so much.
THE HOOKER
Ronan Fitzpatrick, aka the best hooker the world of rugby has seen in decades, despises the media—social or otherwise. The press has spun a web of lies depicting him as rugby’s wild and reckless bad boy. Suspended from his team, Ronan has come to Manhattan to escape the drama, lay low, fly under the radar. Only, Ronan isn’t easy to overlook, and he can’t escape the notice of the Socialmedialite…
THE PLAN
When Ronan is sent to Davidson & Croft Media to reshape his public image, he never expects to cross paths with shy but beautiful Annie, nor does he expect his fierce attraction to her. He couldn’t be happier when her boss suggests pairing them together.
What lengths will Annie take to keep her virtual identity concealed? And what happens when the hooker discovers who the hermit really is?

SO, LET THE SQUEALING COMMENCE! Another mind blowingly awesome story by my favorite romance author of all time. Seriously, I absolutely adore Penny Reid. If you know me, you know I love Penny Reid. And, like I’ve said countless times on this blog before, she is absolutely, completely, irrevocably amazing at what she does.

Obviously, because I’m such a huge fan, I never let an opportunity to read her words go by. And, now, I can say that I’m a complete, true Reider because I’ve read everything by her. Yes, everything. I’m done with all the eight books in Knitting In The City Series (yes, there are in fact eight books, if you count one novella – novel for Janie and Quinn, one prequel to Fiona and Greg and one with scenes of all five couples from the series that have been published yet), all three in The Elements of Chemistry and the one which is out in The Winston Brothers series. So, really, all that I was left to read was this. And, now I’m finally done. It gives me a great sense of accomplishment because I am now a true ‘Reider’ (as I consider one to be only when they’ve read everything, and I do mean everything, by Penny Reid). Yes, I know that there’s a few short stories that I haven’t read, but we’ll leave those be because I can’t find them!

Though this makes me feel accomplished, it also makes me feel sad because now I’ll have to wait for her to release new stuff before I read something new. I mean, there’s always that Neanderthal Marries Human re – read which keeps calling to me, but it’s not the same. Nevertheless, I chose to dwell on the positive side of things.

Now that you realise that I’ve spouted about a hundred words and non of them have been about the book, and I’m truly sorry for that. So, we’ll delve right in and I’ll save my fangirling for later.

This story, oh my! I absolutely love it. I adore it. I want to keep it for the rest of my life. It’s just smack dab amazing, gorgeous, beautiful, mind blowing, phenomenal, awesome, breathtaking and whatever other synonyms you can find in the dictionary. I absolutely love it. Just, so, so much.

tumblr_inline_nkwvh5et981rpyt5d

That’s me by the way, with the lovestruck look on my face after I’m done reading this because this story left me in a daze, truly. It was just so amazing from the get go and there wasn’t a fraction of a second where I wasn’t 10000% invested in the book or the story or the characters.

large

Yes, it is. It is absolutely beautiful and gorgeous. I love it. Like, I’ve already said about a million times now. Forgive me, my blogging skills aren’t up to par with one Annie Catrel, so you’ll have to make do with this.

Anyway, back to the story. It’s intense and funny and cute and adorable and smart and sexy all rolled into one perfect package for anyone who can see the brilliance shining within. And, no I am not exaggerating. Not in the slightest.

The characters are quirky and witty. They keep you on your toes.

b6d5e7fa7bcbfcd9511d5062568e53f7

They’re smoldering and sexy and make you feel all hot and bothered.

e8a500112676f5dd8abdf76af1fd8778

But, at the same time they’re so freaking loving that you melt in a puddle of goo just reading about them.

a5accb68c0056edb2284796c0dd7452d

See what I mean? They’re all entirely too amazing for their own good. I don’t even know what to say! They’re just ridiculously perfect. I love them!

Speaking of love and characters, let’s talk about their story huh? It’s amazingly well written and so well articulated that you will be in awe. The words flow so smoothly and the structure of the story and the plot line is practically flawless. The character interactions – all their body language, dialogue, actions are superbly written. Amazing screenplay is what it was. I loved it!

c82e3484ac0654f8aa1438f641a41fb4

And, the characters. Well, they’re always the best. Annie is like a sort of reflection of me? In a way, I guess. I totally identify with her in her social phobia. I mean, give me a book and candy and I’m wayyyy happier that I would be at a party or a social gathering. So, yeah, on some level, I do identify with her. I share her preference for baggy, dull clothes and avoidance of confrontation. She makes me feel good about myself because, hey! There’s a character in a story by my favorite author and she is so much like plain ole me! That thought makes me super excited. But, in so many ways, Annie is so much more than I am right now. She’s smart and witty and brave and strong. She isn’t afraid to voice her opinion and calls people out on their shit as she sees fit. That makes me adore her all the more. So, yes, she’s like my role model at the moment. I aspire to be like her. I wish I had the strength she had. Because, Annie Catrel is one of the bravest and strongest people I have met and she’s just amazing.

dd239d3ed43b8892f50c31a2b284b18f

Ronan, then, huh? Ronan is smart and hot and sexy and hot and good looking and sexy and handsome and hot and loving and kind and caring and sexy and hot. Did I mention he’s hot? Or that he’s absolutely too sexy for his own good? Because he is. And he has such a dirty mouth. Really. It was a pleasure to read 😉 But, apart from being hot and sexy, he’s clever and witty and loving. He’s so passionate about everything in life. His sport, his family and his girl. He’s a little hot headed, but hey, he’s allowed to have flaws, okay? Besides, he’s all smokin’ when he’s jealous and/or possessive, so I don’t really mind it that much. He’s a complete alpha male, all dominating and controlling. But, he knows how to make a woman feel good about herself and how to make her feel loved and wanted. He’s got a way with words that will totally render you speechless and breathless and wanting more. So, yeah. Next book boyfriend or what?

c67d58ebb3a95160a9aef240d97a8f4b

Coming to their relationship, it’s off the charts! It’s raw and passionate and love and need and forever and happily ever after. It’s so, so, so amazing. They’ve got such chemistry, you want to drown. They’re an inferno, really. It makes your heart hurt (in the best way possible) to read about them. It makes you happy and sad and hopeful and just so, so, so in love with the idea of a relationship like theirs, it’s humbling. They’re so good to each other. So in sync with what the other wants or needs, always their support system, standing by them when needed. And, they get each other. In every way. Mentally, emotionally, physically, you name it. It’s like this connection that they have is so strong and undeniable. They were truly a match made in heaven. I believe that really, really strongly.

a2c07c3a54cb7ffe3e9b9fa5e50cb873

So, the long and short of this is that I LOVE THIS BOOK! If it were a person, I would marry it. And, if you’ve not read this, you are seriously missing out on what could be the best experience of your life. Just sayin’.

I love this book more than I love this GIF of a shirtless Matt Bomer. And, I can tell you, not many things in the world can beat a shirtless Matt Bomer.

The Girl Behind the Red Door

This is an absolutely amazing piece of poetry that’s a must read!

The Girl with Golden Words

There’s a little girl behind that red door
Who peeks out into the driveway and looks for more
She takes the courage to open it further
To see how the world looks beyond the nest built by her mother

She stands there stunned by the enormity.
This world is new and just so full of beauty!
She slowly steps into this world
A silence is around her, and the surroundings mulled.
And just when she is about to know more,
She’s abruptly pulled back towards the door.

Her past clings on to her like a shadow
Like a filthy ghost in a beautiful meadow.
She tries to fight it off with all might
In want of admiring the beautiful sight.
She thinks of the beauty of the other world
And that’s all she needs to give a big whirl.

Off goes the past and she steps into the future

I’m going to start by saying that this might be a little biased because Ysa is a dear friend of mine and I’m absolutely proud of her for this achievement! You go, girl! 😀

But, coming to the story, it really is absolutely gorgeous. The chemistry between the lead pair is gorgeously stunning. It makes you wish that you such relationships really existed. The way Ivo cares for Brandy is so beautifully amazing that I can’t emphasize it enough. Just the way he is with her, especially after she is struck with the disease she was so badly dreading, is heartwarming to read.

The struggle that Brandy goes through is so fiercely grievous that it totally wrecks your heart. I have seriously have sobbed a little too much over her story. And of course, Ivo’s heartbreak is just as sad. Everything that the two of them go through is… heartbreaking to say the least. But, the strength that they possess to overcome everything is completely commendable. We all really could learn a lot from them. And we should. To fight for who you love and to be there for them in every phase of life can always be strenuous and overwhelming, but the way they hold strong is very inspiring.

The story is happy, sad, funny and sexy in all the right parts and is a full package that guarantees a satisfying read for anybody.

I just… I really, really love this story. It’s really close to my heart and I love it.

I sobbed into his shoulder, my tears soaking into the fabric of his shirt.

“I don’t deserve any of this, Ivo. I don’t deserve you. Just leave me alone.”

“Sshh…you deserve all the love in the world.”

Flushed and breathless, I closed my eyes when his forehead touched mine and I clutched him a little tighter. It felt good when his lips met mine; he seemed to know exactly how I liked to be kissed. All soft and slow, lingering touches of lips and slips of tongue.

Happy Reading! 😀
