The Wright One picks off right where The Wright Love left off, and is the conclusion of the duology. This story deals with the aftermath of David’s lies to Sutton and her family and how they overcome it all.

What I liked about this was that while Sutton sort of made David work for it, she wasn’t unreasonable and she didn’t take things farther than necessary. Yes, she lashed out in the beginning, but only because she was hurt and upset. But then, when she thought about it with a clear head, she decided to give David a chance to explain before making decisions. And only when she was satisfied that his motives were pure did she agree to date him again.

The loss of her late husband still pricks Sutton and it’s handled really well through the book. It doesn’t overshadow Sutton’s present, but is always a part of her and the way she deals with her grief is believable and you can’t help but sympathize with her.

She still thinks about her son before taking any major decisions about how doing something will affect him and that is so nice to see. But, she doesn’t let the fact that she has a kid overshadow every other part of her life. Her ex in – laws, especially her late husband’s mother gives her a lot of flake for it and taunts Sutton on more than one occasion.

But then, just before the climax, she starts second guessing her earlier decisions and makes a mess of things for everyone and it’s just a little annoying because it’s all mostly because of her mother – in – law and how she sees Sutton. Sutton gives that woman a little too much power over her life and I don’t like that. I mean, I understand that she feels like she owes them – they’re her dead husband’s parents and her son is their grandson, who they both adore. So, yes. I get that. But her giving in to that pressure was something I definitely didn’t like.

David is still his amazing, understanding self. But we see a new side to him and more of his past is revealed which made me see him in a completely new light. It makes his actions so much more believable and understandable. We also see his mom and sister and his budding equation with both of them makes me really happy. So many changes in his life and he takes it all in stride. And, he loves all the Wrights so much – they’re like his family and it reflects in his actions. I really did love that.

Of course, the drama and then the grand gesture in the end were inevitable. I did love it though. It gave such a satisfying end to the story and it was absolutely amazing.

If we compare, the first book was definitely better, but this one is great as well and I had fun reading it.

All in all, this is a delightful read and I definitely recommend it to everybody who loves romance.

The Wright Love follows the story of Sutton, recently widowed single mother and David, a an with secrets from his past that he’s trying to move on from. David works at Wright Construction, the family business of Sutton, of which she has no part, not being interested in anything related to the business ever. When the story starts, it’s been a year since Sutton’s husband, Maverick, passed away. In this time, David has been really supportive and understanding of her whole situation, being there for her in anyway she needs. During the course of the story, they start dating, but when a secret from David’s past is revealed, it threatens to destroy not only his relationship with Sutton, but also everything that he’s tried so hard to build.

What I like most about the story is definitely David and just how accommodating and understanding he is about the whole situation with Sutton. He never tries to pressure her into anything she isn’t ready for, understands what she needs and is there for her in every way he can be. As a friend, as a confidante, as a boyfriend. He backs off when she says she isn’t ready for sex even though they’re in the middle of it, he doesn’t go ballistic when she asks him to take a step back in their relationship because of her husband and he doesn’t crowd her when she breaks up with him. So, yes, he’s a decent human being. But, we have so less of those that I am compelled to write all these things as stuff that makes me like him.

He’s a really good love interest and I really wish we had more heroes like him. That being said, it was absolutely stupid of him to lie about something so fundamental about himself, especially after he knew the situation Sutton and her family were in. I understand why he did what he did, but it still doesn’t make it better. He should have trusted his friends and known that they would have understood him and his motivations instead of lying about it.

Now, Sutton. Sutton, Sutton, Sutton. What do I say about her? I absolutely admire her will to keep going after everything that has happened in her life in such a short amount of time. The loss of her husband, being a single mom, answering to her overbearing family and her nosy inlaws could not have been easy, but she did it all. And, she did it with grace. She found a new purpose in life and stood back up on her feet. For that I absolutely admire her.

But, she was also easily influenced by what others had to say and she did come across as indecisive often. I understood that loosing her husband had made it difficult for her to move on, but I wish she had had more faith in herself and the choices she was making, both for herself and her son.

Next, Sutton’s family, who’ve been really supportive of her and who all love David and rely on him in a professional way. They were so endearing. They were all genuinely worried about Sutton and her wellbeing was on the forefront of their actions every time. I loved that. I especially loved how they adored David too and how they tried to make things easier for him, especially after he started dating Sutton. Morgan, Sutton’s sister and David’s best friend though, stole the cake. I absolutely adored just how amazing she was with her sister and her nephew and of course, how she silently supported her best friend through everything that happened between him and her sister, never picking a side or blaming either of them, but just being a pillar of support for them.

All in all, this was an absolutely amazing read and I definitely recommend you to read it if you’re into romance!
